What It Means to Believe

Jesus tells His disciples not to let their hearts be troubled, but to believe in God and believe in Him. Looking more closely at the word believe reveals something deeper than simply accepting that something is true—it carries the idea of placing our trust in, relying on, and even casting ourselves upon God, especially when worry and uncertainty feel heavy.
